In <\/span>San Blas,<\/b> we have one of the most important natural wonders of the state of <\/span>Nayarit <\/b>and the whole Mexico, this is <\/span>La Tovara National Park<\/b>, an incredible spring where you can venture between mangroves and have full contact with nature, here below is a little more about this place:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1) La Tovara\u2019s Different Waters<\/p>\n

Due to its particular location, the fresh spring water from the mountains, meets the salt water from the ocean at La Tovara, forming this incredible estuary, home to thousands of species of birds, reptiles and fish. No doubt the clear waters of <\/span>Camalota Lagoon<\/b> are the best place to cool off.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) The Kingdom of Crocodiles<\/p>\n

Definitely crocodiles are the masters of the waters of La Tovara, since it is the perfect habitat for these important species of reptiles, therefore the <\/span>Kiekari Crocodile Preserve<\/b> is a mandatory stop to admire and learn more about these beautiful animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) La Tovara and the RAMSAR Convention<\/p>\n

Thanks to the immense natural wealth that exists in La Tovara, it is part of <\/span>“<\/b>The List of Wetlands of International Importance\u201d<\/b>, declared at the <\/span>RAMSAR Convention<\/b> since 2008, aimed at the \u00a0conservation and wise use of wetlands through local, regional and national actions, so taking care of it is everyone\u2019s task.<\/span><\/p>\n

4) The Long or The Short Boat Trip<\/p>\n

There are two options for planning your adventure through La Tovara, the long one lasts from 3 to 4 hours, starting off at <\/span>La Aguada jetty<\/b>, where your adventure through the mangrove estuary ends at the Kiekari Crocodile Farm; the other boat ride leaves from <\/span>El Conchal jetty<\/b> and takes about half the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

5) \u00a0“Cabeza de Vaca” Filming Set<\/p>\n

If you take the tour to La Tovara leaving from La Aguada jetty, you’ll pass through the set where the <\/span>Mexican film “Cabeza de Vaca<\/b>” was shot in 1991, where the lush vegetation recreates the mythical adventures of Don Nuno de Guzman, founder of San Blas and his partner Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca.<\/span><\/p>\n
