The San Blas Birds Festival<\/strong><\/a> is coming! Here we present some of the most colorful and representative species of this region of the Riviera Nayarit<\/strong>, don’t miss out the chance to visit them by the end of this month!<\/p>\n

1) Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii)<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This friendly buddy is a big star, especially on Isabel Island<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and some parts of the Mexican Pacific, the males’ blue paws are their best ally for the reproduction of this unique bird.<\/p>\n

2) Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The pretty cousin of herons, proudly displays its fantastic pink plumage as it strolls through the estuaries and mangroves of San Blas<\/strong><\/a>, owes its name to the shape of its singular beak, with which it filters its food.<\/p>\n

3) Boat-billed\u00a0Heron (Cochlearius cochlearius)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

A symbol of this beautiful port, although it is a bit shy, the presence of this important bird is considered an indicator to monitor problems in their environment.<\/p>\n

4) Magnificent Frigate (Fregata magnificens)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The elegant frigate offers a great show during mating, as males show their impressive deep red color to catch the attention of coveted females.<\/p>\n

5) American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

When you visit the peaceful fishing village of Boca del Asadero<\/strong><\/a>, you can appreciate the American oystercatcher<\/strong>, who naturally feeds on oysters and crabs that it opens without problems, thanks to its long orange beak.<\/p>\n
