Borrego beach

This is the port of San Blas beach, just five minutes’ walk from the main square and ​​3 kilometers long, flanked at one end by El Pozo estuary and at the other end by San Cristobal estuary, ideal for hiking, surfing, swimming, horseback riding, turtle-releasing during summer months at Aayetsie Wakie camp, or just enjoying a meal under one of the palapas.

Matanchen Bay

Former refuge for pirates and buccaneers, the bay is a large area that opens to the sea forming a natural protection for boats. It is located 7 kilometers south of the port of San Blas on the road to Puerto Vallarta, where you will find completely unspoiled beaches such as Santa Cruz, Miramar, Los Cocos, Aticama, Matanchen and Las Islitas.

Throughout this bay, you will find typical palapas with exquisite cuisine of traditional dishes prepared with fresh seafood in the area. Do not forget to visit some of the vendors settled on the edge of the road offering banana bread, coconut candies and other typical local products.

Las Islitas beach

Formed by a series of narrow bays linked by picturesque rocks where waves are deposited with a lulling stillness, Las Islitas is ideal for families. Here you can pass the time agreeably on a hammock under the shade of a ramada, tasting the seafood specialties in typical restaurants considered to offer the best flavor of the region, or venture out to surf one of the longest waves in the world listed by the Guinness book of records.

Punta Custodio, Tortugas and Playa Platanitos Bay

On the coastal highway to Las Varas, 40 kilometers south of San Blas you will find Playa Tortugas and Punta Custodio which are 8 kilometers of beach surrounded by palm trees, mangroves, the estuary mouth and high cliffs, with gentle waves that invite you to hop on a boogie board and ride along the waves.

At the end of the beautiful bay, you reach Platanitos, which is a fishing village where you can taste delicious dishes prepared in the palapas by the seashore and relish a refreshing dip.
