Three Very Mexican Desserts from San Blas

Your visit to San Blas, will not be the same if you don’t try at least one of the most representative desserts of the Riviera Nayarit, and once you taste the delicious capomo coffee, you better pair it with one of the excellent companions, such as :

1) Cocadas

Whether they’re square or pellet form, coconut candies are one of the favorite desserts for locals and surely you will find them throughout downtown San Blas and all along the Matanchen Bay. No doubt, they are a great example of how to harness the abundance of coconuts to please locals and visitors.

2) Coyules

If you’re not originally from a tropical place, maybe you’ve never heard of coyules, these unique fruits look a little like almonds or small coconuts, these are also typical for the people of San Blas, who have been eating coyules ever since childhood. Try them honeyed and you will learn what is really good in life!

3) Sweet Corn Tamale

No matter if they are sweet or savory, tamales have a special flavor that conquers most Mexicans palates, but here in this magical land, sweet corn tamale takes the prize. They are so soft and delicate that you can get used to its pleasant taste very easily.
