This region has been a cornerstone in each of the historical stages of our country’s culture: The origin of life at Haramara, the mythical island of Mexcaltitán, the most important trading port between New Spain and Far East during Colonial times until now being part of the Riviera Nayarit, the main tourist destination in the Mexican Pacific.

Also called the Birds Paradise, San Blas is home to many endemic species, also there are two National Parks in the surroundings: La Tovara and Santa Isabel Island. It is also the perfect home for crocodiles, sea turtles, whale sharks and many more.

The sanblaseña cuisine combines exceptionally, the authentic flavors of the sea with fresh fruits and vegetables that abound in this region, discover here some typical dishes to make you salivate. Do not forget to try the fluffy banana bread, in some of the best local restaurants.
